Great... I love this...so true xx
I know this is meant to be a positive message but I do not see any beauty in pain. I have had to wear trainers now for five years. I look at the shoes in my wardrobe that I am unable to wear and hope that one day I can. Once or twice I have even tried them on sitting down but of course can't even stand up in them. But there is always hope.
Sorry cvbm,
It wasn't meant to offend anyone and I am very sorry if it did! My interpretation was not finding beauty in pain but rather beauty in the strength of the women who suffer the pain, in other words everybody engaged with this forum! Again apologies!!

Hi, you did not offend me at all. It is true we have to be strong to go on suffering like we do and because we are strong we are all beautiful. Quite a rare breed! I hope everyone will accept my apologies and have a lovely week-end.
That made me smile but when I went to get shoes for the upcoming wedding, I asked for heels that wouldnt make me end up in A and E. It is a good simile really as we do cover our pain with a smile, the same as those young people who walk in those heels. They have the choice of taking them off during the night though. My daughter came home once with one shoe.!
I adore shoes and my husband despairs of my collection lol. I haven't worn heels for a while, but I so see the message, the things we do for our esteem. High heels are sexy. I'm feeling not chemo sexy lol but the thought of a night out in heels makes me positive for the last dose.

High heels are just a distant dream of long ago for me as I am likely to fall off them. This blooming disease has made me weak and wobbly on my feet and if I fall I can't get up and it is highly unlikely that George Clooney will be nearby to pick me up. However I have discovered that pretty wedges can do the trick if I want to dress up. Enjoy your weekend. I am going to attempt to do part of 10k walk. In my trusty flat walking boots of course. Meanwhile happly Valentine's day .

I had a real laugh at this post. I've never worn heeled shoes- and certainly not pink ones - but I liked the sentiments. It's good we can have a laugh together to cheer ourselves. up.
Now I've currently got a problem of one huge leg and one skinny leg as I've got lymphoedema in my left leg. Why do trouser manufacturers assume everyone's got two identically sized legs? lol

Hi Whippet, Good point. I have never thought about how that could effect you before.
