New treatment

Hi been to see onc today,going to start weekly docetaxol next week.anyone else on this.would love to hear your experiences of it regards carolyn

I am also on weekly Taxol had my fifth treatment yesterday.

Find I am weary the following day, but rest as much as I can, the loss of taste is for me one of the worst side effects. Cannot taste anything for about three days, so struggle to eat.

I also have to inject my tummy for the three following days after chemo to keep my white blood cells good. Had one session cancelled because the levels had dropped so low.

But at the end of the day we take whatever is offered to us, and stay strong.

I have two granddaughters who make me smile and keep me going.

Throughout our treatment we have hurdles placed in front of us, and somehow we get over them or round them!!

Just to clarify things Docetaxel ( Taxotere) and Paclitaxel ( Taxol) are two different drugs although both are from the same class of drugs ( Taxanes). Although they have similar effectiveness there is a slightly different side effect profile. If you would like any more information do give our support line a ring on 02072996650
