Anyone out there have this Rotterdam chemo? How long was this entire chemo process from start to finish? Did you -always lose your hair on this treatment? was it successful?

Hi there, I am half way through at the moment. I have had 3 weekly infusions of Cisplatin followed by Etoposide tablets every day for 3 weeks, plus a one week break (to give your body time to recover). In my case my immune system was too low to have the next 3 weekly treatments but hoping to continue today. This will mean another 3 weeks of infusions and tablets followed by another one week break and then the tablets on their own for a further 21days. I make that 12 weeks but I guess you may have tablets for longer. Hair loss has been slow (still got some but had it cut very short). It is a tough regime leaving you extremely fatigued you just about get over it when the whole thing starts again. As far as success goes - we have yet to see. Will keep you posted on that one. There doesn't seem to be many ladies who have had this at the moment but hopefully you will get some more replies that may be more useful than mine. Could be useful to me too.

Hi ! Yes , did this as my third line ...Cisplatin every third week and etoposide as tablets ... Started in January 2013 and yes , lost hair again ...Followed the anti emetic regime scrupulously , and laxatives ,and by August managed a good holiday .

My pattern tends to be 6 months on , 6 months off ...and by February 2014 was on weekly taxol .

The Rotterdam can be very effective ...the Cisplatin can knock you out but what doesn't ?

My very best wishes ...hope all goes well.

I've just completed my second cycle of this regime out of 6 at the Christie. It involves an overnight stay with 13 hours of infusions plus oral etoposide. Apart from fatigue, so far it is not that bad. Hair still intact thou I have a wig on standby just in case.

Not what you're looking for?
