Hi Poeticlady

I don't know you whole story as I'm fairly new to this (only joined about a week ago), but from your post I assume you are having problems which are being investigated. Consultants are notorious for getting all the investigations before committing themselves, but it sounds as if things are being done as swiftly as possible for you. The waiting about is still horrendous though, but try not to dwell on it too much, if that's possible. Better to get all the answers at the beginning than only know some things and still be left worrying about the unknown.

I will keep my fingers crossed for you and hope that your wait won't be too drawn out.

Take care

I'm sure your mind is in a whirl at the moment. If its any help, I found that knowing the outcome of the tests was easier to deal with than the uncertainty of the unknown. Once there is a plan in place for whatever treatment is deemed most suitable for you, hopefully you will start to get a handle on things.

Hang on in there. You're not on your own.

I was exactly the same, plus not having used these machines before I found really daunting. But once I knew what we were dealing with, having met my lovely, and handsome, oncologist, a plan was put into place.

That made me feel more reAdy to commence the battle! It's hard but this site has been amazing, picked me up when I was down and they have all been there themselves so advice is great too.

Take care, were all with you

Waiting is the worst thing once you get your results the experts will support you on whatever the outcome. I presume you are young and strong and will cope, strength comes from somewhere Gillx

Hi there

So very sorry that you are going through this.

I was admitted to hospital via A and E when I first became ill and had a diagnosis within 36 hours. The only snag was that it was wrong and I made decisions on the basis of that incorrect diagnosis that could have led to me not being around now. !

I am not saying this to scare you , but these things do take time.

The doctors need as full a picture as possible about what is happening before they operate. This is so that they can plan who does it , who long you will need in hospital , what aftercare if any. This is in your best interests and may mean that you will not be subjected to unnecessary surgery if you don't need it. The higher up the scale of ultrasound , CT , MRI you go the more information they will have and the better for you.

Please try to keep busy between now and then with lots of treats if you can. I found getting out and about with other people really good....I'm sure you are doing all of this already.

Five years on I am fine and so will you be , all going well.

Love and hugs xxx

Hi, sorry you have to go through this. Don't expect results too quickly though as the consultant may need to discuss your case a t an MDT meeting (multi disciplinary team meeting). This is normal procedure where specialists get together and come up with the best treatment plan for you, if one is required. Try tyo immerse yorself in something you enjoy, knitting, crochet, art, something you can lose yourself in and don't notice the time going by. I find this works for me. Good luck. Ann x
