Ibuprofen and chemo
HI Lovis there was some discussion on here recently about using ibuprofen. I think it would be best to ask your gp or CNS, It can irritate the gut but you can get something to counteract this. I have some Naproxen that I used when I feel paracetamol wont do the job but I wouldnt use it constantly, it is left from a shoulder injury. It prob depends on the chem you are on as well
Thanks for your reply. Opinion seems to vary according to which medical professional I talk to. I only need to take one and that keeps the inflammation down.
Well if you feel it helps then go for it but it can irritate the tummy but maybe a lose dosage like one a day wont. Read Eileens posts, they are quite interesting and knowledgeable. She is a retired gp and takes it regularly, it might help you
What is her full name on the forum please
I have looked now and its DRDU try small letters if caps dont work out, the whole posting and replies are back about on page two if you can find it, its about Avastin and Ibruprofen. Do you think I remembered to ask my onc yesterday of course not ?
Thanks
I'm in a lot of pain following chemo and take max dose paracetamol, tramadol and ibuprofen. I was discouraged from taking ibuprofen at first but it's the only thing that really hits the pain. The oncologist today was really supportive and pleased I was managing the pain. I recommend you talk to your doctor and cns.
Yes I'm on carbo/taxol and avastin, three weekly. I take para/tram and nurofen in week one to combat the pain from chemo. I take them for 7 days. I hope that helps but do ask your oncologist or nurse.
Hi I was told not to take Ibuprofen while on chemo. hope this helps X
