Hi everyone, so after x4 months of

Caelyx hoping to shrink the cancer it has done nothing. So since it hasn't got bigger and hasn't shrinked in size I'm

Now just having more cat scans. What worriesme is that my ca125 marker went up to 30 and it's never been that high ever it's only ever been 17. So that worries me but in saying that I'm glad I'm not having any more treatment. But I'll be getting my ca125 again nxt Tuesday and they will discuss with me when to get nxt scan. Has any of you out there had this? Would love some feedback thanks

Hi there - I had Caelyx last year, it shrunk the tumour a bit but its still there (several cms in size) so I just live with it. As my doctor made me realise - as long as it doesn't grow its fine. I do eat a Paleo style diet and take ginger and tumeric, all the usual stuff. I am also on Letrozole (Femara) tablets daily. Good luck to you - Nicola

I hVe had 5 cycles of palliative Caelyx. My tumours have shrunk slightly and my CA 125 is down to 72 (under 30 is "normal") from over 200 (it was 11,000 at diagnosis 5 years ago) I am currently having some nasty side effects - utter exhaustion, mouth ulcers, peeling hands & feet, raw patches on my body and disturbance of my colostomy - but on the whole the quality of life is good and preferable to the alternative!

I just roll with it and look for the positive!

Margaret

Hi Margaret, tks for your reply, sorry to hear all the problems you are having I had really bad mouth ulcers too but started having warm water and salt it helped. And for me I'm just taking it month by month it's frustrating I know. I had ovarian cancer 14 years ago and never thought it would ever come back, how wrong I was. But I'm hoping it's scar tissue. As u had carbo and taxyl early this year and it didn't shrink it either. So having caelyx I thought it would work so not happy it didn't if you know what I mean. Hope you feel better soon. Take care.

Tess.

They prescribed a mouthwash and some gel for the ulcers. The moutwash cn be purchased under the mame of Difflam the gel is called Gelclair and both made a terrific difference! I am now so much better but I still have a couple of ulcers Which have develped in the last week. I have not used the oxygen for 4 weeks!
