Hi Mopsie
Just been having a conversation about this very subject. I am also in stage 4 remission. I have been using MIA insurance who are very reasonable for Mediterranean holidays. However there are several suggestions on this site. Hope you get on ok and have a lovely holiday.

Thank you we will try them. They may also help us going to Israel later in the year where our son lives at the moment. We have been quoted as much as £700 for a one week trip which is more than our combined air fares! I was delighted to hear how long you have been in remission as I am struggling to see too far ahead.

I know how you are feeling. I didn't think I would see 2011 but when i joined this site i found lots of lovely ladies (and men) who boosted my spirits and gave me lots of hope. So keep positive and hope you are feeling good at the moment.

I have just booked a Med cruise for September so have just been through the same problem. Tried Mia Insurance but said NO for a cruise. Tried another 2 companies who were £1500 or £1300 medical only single trip or £1300 to£1000 medical only single trip then tried "Insured With" online who were set up for cancer sufferers and was quoted around £275 so snapped it up. Fairly extensive medical history questioning, it is a £500 excess on top of the usual excess but I felt this was a much better option! Happy to pay the excess if required.
Hope this helps and you get your cruise booked. This is my first cruise and excited!!

I've been on 4 cruises in last few years and all while disease still active as my stage 3 oc keeps coming back. We have travel insurance with virgin money who cover me for everything except the Cancer for normal rate. As we've mostly gone to EU countries where we can get emergency medical treatment and there are doctors on the ships we felt that was enough and it has always been fine. We've just come back from fantastic Baltic cruise even though it was only 8 weeks since finishing more chemo and I was fine. So go for it and have a great time

Hi I am going to a villa in Cyprus next week and its been a nightmare finding an insurance company. I was stage 4 had debulking operation and woke up with a colostomy. My gynaecologist said he had removed all visible signs of disease and I have been in remission since last september. One insurance company wanted £3000.00 to insure me for 12 days!!!!! Lots of companies refused point blank to insure me. Mia were quite rude to me and said to phone back 6 weeks before i went and they would consider it the. I explained I had to know if they would cover me as I had to book flights but he flatly refused. One company told me they couldn't me insure but she emailed me a few companies that would. I phoned one that she sent me called "Good to go" and they were brilliant. They insured both my husband and me for one thousand four hundred. Its still a lot but my husband is waiting for knee replacement and we are desperate to go on holiday. Some people have told me to just use European card but no way would we go without insurance. Now counting the days till we go.x Jean x
Thank you for your response and I have to say I don't think there is any need for rudeness from people you are trying to do business with at a stressful time! we will give Mia a miss. Insurepink have been helpful and gave a quote for £255 but I completed a question incorrectly and am now waiting for their medical underwriters response which I hope will be ok as the thought of starting to search again fills me with dread. I wish I felt brave enough to go without.

Hi, I was diagnosed stage 4 in 2012. Since then ( and including immediately after diagnosis and before treatment) I have travelled all over the world without any more than the usual insurance which won't cover for cancer. I have just got back from another fantastic holiday, and did look into insurance this time. I found they would cover me if I had note within short time of travel. By the time this came around I felt ok and cynically thought that if they were willing to cover me I was probably ok! I had a fantastic family holiday, and believe that the holidays we've had have got us all through such a difficult two years. For me it's about balancing positives and negatives of the experience, and the benefits of a holiday tip it for me. I may be reckless but YOLO and I've no regrets so far...
