Please find further details of Ovacome Members Day, taking place on Saturday 17th May at the National Council for Voluntary Organisations in London.
We have an exciting line up of speakers to update you on the latest treatments for ovarian cancer and how to get by day to day with the effects of the disease.
On the podium will be Dr Richard Osborne from Dorset Cancer Care, who will provide an update on ovarian cancer, latest treatments and research. Dr Helen Fairhurst from the Institute of Psychosexual Medicine will also be joining us to talk about the impact of cancer on relationships.
In the afternoon we will be holding a communication skills workshop hosted by Deb Puleston which will focus on being more assertive when dealing with healthcare professionals. The session will give guidance on how to effectively discuss preferred treatment options and how to get the time needed to understand the care being given.
There will also be short presentations from Jo Morrison, Lindsay Fraser and Ruth Grigg on new studies and projects taking place (a full programme can be found on our website: ovacome.org.uk/fundraising-...
The day provides an opportunity to hear from some eminent speakers, to meet other members and share experiences and information. It is also an opportunity to meet Ovacome staff and feed your views to us, which can in turn influence the way Ovacome operates in the future.
Refreshments are provided so please come and join us for lunch, have a catch up with old friends and make some new ones.
