I had my three-monthly follow up appointment yesterday and have been told that as it has been more than 2 years since I finished treatment and everything seems to be fine, I can now move on to six monthly appointments. So, no more hospital visits until October. That's half a year! The Christmas decorations will be in the shops.
To all of you who haven't had such a good start to the weekend, I'm sending all my love and I will be thinking of you.
Love Mary xx

Wonderful news, Mary! Have a lovely weekend now and a bottle of something cool and enticing to celebrate this evening (or lunchtime, as the case may be!)
Thank you Jenny. I wish I could say that I have discovered a magic bullet but no. I haven't followed any special diet, though I do eat more fruit and vegetables and less cheese. I've carried on drinking wine and haven't taken any supplements. I have been able to minimize stress, mainly thanks to early retirement. I've kept my weight down but I've always been on the skinny side. So far I just seem to have got lucky. I just wish I could spread it around.
There is no magic bullet though is there ? It worries me a bit when people say there is.. i.e. when they say this or that cures cancer.
I know from the tributes I have wrote that a lot of the friends we have lost have tried just about everything ( often quirky often expensive ) but it has made no difference.. the only difference it has made is ..they think they are doing something.. so it might help their mind....
Mary you do what you are doing it is obviously working, I love your zest for living it cheers me up no end love x G x
Totally agree with you Gwyn. And I think we all want to know that we've done the best for ourselves as far as we can. Our individual beliefs will sometimes take us in different directions so if I thought mushrooms would help, I'd go with that. As long as something isn't actively harmful. In my case, I believe in the conventional route.
And talk about zest for living!!! You cheer us all up. Always.
Thanks Mary my friend who works at Penny Brohn and ate correctly as she sees cancer all the time has now got breast cancer, such a shock so think maybe in the genes, but so pleased for you. xxx
Haha Jenny ...and I don't even wear Jeans oops! sorry you did say Genes didn't you? LOL ... You are one strong lady though if this has anything to do with it you will get through most things love x G x
Am so pleased for you Mary have a fantastic weekend xxxx we having a great weekend too all my tests came back good and only problem a low vitamin D count, and yesterday we got the amazing news my son's brain tumour hasn't regrown- still only same small part that they couldn't remove 7 yrs ago but it's likely headaches are more stress related!!! After going through what we all have to be given such fantastic news makes every day so very special nowadays. Much love to you xxx
That's great news. I'm going for my 3 month check-up on Monday and was wondering if I would continue on 3 monthly's for a 2nd year. I think I'd prefer to if I can.
Just catching up on all the news ( I managed to catch the 'orrible tummy bug- probably from all the dear little dears who came my way last week!)- that's a great result. You can relax now and enjoy the spring and summer!
