Meeting in York
Hi Margaret and good morning ..
I couldn't get the link on my ipad. Here's another
yorkpress.co.uk/features/he...
The article is brilliant. Your personality shines through as does friendship. Love Tina x x
Brilliant article Margaret! Another advert to make women aware of the symptoms. It also shows you as a positive roll model for anyone with cancer.
You are an incredible person and strong character which comes over really well in the article.
Hugs Jackie xxxx
Hi Jackie, Sorry I haven't replied to your message to me after your atricle was in out local paper, but the site is constantly crashing on me and it won't let me do it on that section so this is to say thanks, yes, it would be great to meet up at Notcutts and sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you!!!
Love Sheila
sorry but I am not Jackie!
Sorry Margaret - I thought if I clicked on the reply button on her comment, she would get the message. I'll try going back to her original and see if the site will let me reply to it now.
Reading around the posts this afternoon you are, as ever, an inspiration. Best to you Sheila
Dear Margaret
What an excellent article. Ovacome must be delighted with the publicity for this site. It was such a special few days in York and the article summed it all up. The wondeful facilities you have in York, your own example of living with cancer and having a fulfilling and rich life, the companionship of friends on this site, and so much more.
You are an absolute star! You've set a high standard for the next event in Cardiff which will be tacked on to a Target Being Together Day next year so you'll get to see the facilities at The Velindre. What a contrast - but you'll also meet the wonderful staff there who work tirelessly in what I now know are pretty challenging circumstances.
I guess you had another sleepless night thanks to the steroids/chemotherapy. You posted this as my alarm went off to get up and catch the 5:30 bus to the Royal Marsden for my consultation today. Are we two night owls or two early birds? xx
with lots of love xxxx Annie
Good luck at RM Annie! I am packing for my trip down tomorrow for the research assessment!
Annie .. I'll be with you today in thought .. Love Tina x x
Good luck, Annie. Will be keeping fingers crossed for you as you go to RM. have set the tv to record on Weds night!
Love n hugs
Wendy xx
Thanks for the good wishes Tina, Margaret and Wendy. The 5:30 bus, getting off at Earls Court, will get me to the RM for a 9:30 appointment. That's not at all bad. I'll see what poison is prescribed today and my start date. Currently in Patisserie Valerie by Sloane Square as I'm a bit early - and need some trousers. London is freezing! xxx A
Wonderful article Margaret, well done for getting such useful uplifting publicity.
Hope to meet at the next get together - is that the one in Cardiff - you lot are a breath of fresh air !
Hope today's meeting goes really well for you today Annie!
( sorry to harp on about the cold cap, but I had mine on for 4 1/2 hrs yesterday due to delays during treatment, and it was ok , if somewhat chilly , so time of wearing doesnt seem to be a problem ! )
Hi Hilary Yes the next planned one is in Cardiff though no doubt there will be mini get-togethers all over the country. Target are doing one of their Get Together Days in Cardiff and have arranged it in the Velindre so it's a way of organising a look round the hospital. Not so straightforward now I'm at the Royal Marsden. I'd love you all to see round there. Three very different cancer experiences. If you watch The Wales Report on Wednesday you'll see Jean's facilities at the Singleton in Swansea which are first rate with pretty green electric reclining chairs.
It's actually quite good to be looking round and finding the hospital that suits best given it's a major part of our lives. The Marsden is in a fabulous situation just near some of the major museums. I've resolved to visit one every time I come down and hopefully to see all the collections. It's also temptingly near Sloane Square and the King's Road. Better leave my crediit card behind when I come to London!
I'm really pleased the cold cap is working out so well. I think it depends whether hospitals offer the new-type ones that look like salon hairdryers because these don't have to be changed every couple of hours or so. The old-style ones they had at The Velindre were kept in the freezer and were very heavy and uncomfortable.
Let's hope it works and you keep all your hair. xxxx Love Annie
Hi Annie
Good luck at the RM. I'm thinking of you all the time. Are you back in Cardiff for big screening? Was going to say debut but it's not yours is it? Only mine. Lol.
Take care of yourself.
Love
Jean. Xxxxxxxx
Jean, shouldn't there be a red-carpet reception with champagne? lol Are you nervous about the possible reaction? I'm sure they chose a BIG item for the first show of the season. You might be like Rhys Ifans in the film Notting Hill when you open your front door on Thursday morning. Rememberr to brush your hair first! lol xxxxxx Big cwtches n hugs my old trooper! xxxx Annie
I know you don't watch TV but they have been advertising the Wales Report a lot since last Friday. I think we have set the cat amongst the pigeons. Lol. Got a few butterflies in my stomach. Xxxxxx lots of love.xxxxx
Wonderful news from RM. Xxxxxx
Cardiff it is if Target will have us! Ethan's we'll get some more recruits!
Margaret,
Wonderful article and a great bit of awareness raising . It was clearly a great great weekend , well done for getting it in the news , dy x
Very well done, Margaret. It's a pity I couldn't make it, and I doubt I'll be able to make the next one, because we are moving house. It takes guts to get through the treatment for this accursed disease, and you have a bucketful of guts (not to mention your stoma, which I hope it being obedient and reliable these days)...
Great publicity for the cause, Margaret. A lovely photo of you all as well, it looks like you're all having a whale of a time! All the best for your on-going treatment.
Love Wendy xx
Hi Margaret, Well done, great article and a lovely photo. Love Lakshmy

Hi Margaret,

What a wonderful 3 days we had, something to remember for a long time. That is going to be a hard act to follow in Cardiff but I'm sure we will have a great time.
