I don't think your ca125 is high at all, and I can't understand why your dr thinks it is, it is probably because you have fibroids, but if everything else has come back normal you have nothing to worry about best wishes love x G x
Dear Susan, The one thing that sounds good to me is that your doctor is taking you seriously and has sent off a blood test to check the CA125 level. Hopefully you've looked up the symptoms of ovarian cancer and you can track them. A couple of the ovarian cancer charities have a symptom tracker so you can note if you have any other signs such as discomfort, change of bowel or urinary habits, loss of appetite.
If your GP continues to be concerned on your behalf he/she wants to understand the reason which is hopefully something harmless that can be treated promptly. It seems you're in very good hands.
I hope this is resolved soon and you can put any worries about ovarian cancer out of your mind.
Thanks for your answers everyone, I'm not sure what the bloods where for as he did say 25 and under was normal? But I do feel more relaxed from your answers as my mum passed away 5 years ago of cervical cancer which spread to her brain, so you can see my paranoia hah thanks again x
Hi! It sounds as if everything is being monitored carefully. It's sensible to check out any problems though. If you want to keep an eye on things, there is a symptom tracker on ovacome.org.uk If you click on the link, top right, there is a symptom tracker that you can record any symptoms and print out if you go to your GP or gynaecologist. It will give you all the info on the site too. There are some factsheets under the resources heading on the left too.
