Waiting
So very sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis,a dreadful time for you. Regarding the waiting time I'm sure it differs greatly from country to country and indeed from hospital to hospital. I'm sure you're anxious to get things moving, the waiting is by far the worst part of it all. For me I had a CT scan in early June 2015 , saw the gynae oncologist in early July and had surgery on 31st July, then started chemo late September. It's a tough road for a while but hopefully you'll travel it well, best of luck to you
hello, I had a partial hysterectomy and my ovaries and fallopian tubes were removed. My surgeons saw no sign of cancer, the biopsies during, right after surgery were benign. But the pathologist noticed irregular cells kept watching, and diagnosed me with high grade serous ovarian cancer two weeks after surgery. She had a women’s hospital oncology board review as well. So wait for the “final pathology report,” I don’t want you to experience this horrific news. Fortunately it was early staged! I’ve been cancer free, NED for 2 years last March. Still doing well regular testing. This pathologist prob saved my life!
Hi Edel, I am also in Ireland. It probably differs from hospital to hospital. I had my surgery in a Dublin hospital Feb 2019 & had my operation less than 4 weeks after been diagnosed. I thought at the time it seemed forever away but it did go quick & it gave me time to get my head around been diagnosed with OC & to prepare for what was ahead of me. If you want to ask me anything about the op, recovery or anything else please feel free to send me a text privately if you want. You will get plenty of support from all the ladies on here & they all know & understand what you are going through. Best of luck with your surgery hope it all goes well XxMag
