Hi girls

Received an e-mail today regarding the awareness of O.C.He stated that a protocol is in the process of being rolled out to G.P's regarding the steps they need to take regarding O.C. The CA 125 test will be as well as other tests.Im not sure if I can paste the e-mail from the minister on here.

Hi Annie. Great to read about the protocol & Minister's reply. I keep telling the others - that Leo V is the best for replying - and not even months later.

So if we all keep writing about awareness etc of OC and the symptoms, something will eventually happen.

OvaCare, I know, have made good progress also on this issue.

Have a good Easter and hope all goes well.

Maureen xx

HI Annie H, well the more we push, the more we are noticed and maybe when patients get behind Ovacare and SOCKS these medics will realise that Ovarian Cancer is serious. Yes it would seem that the Irish College of General Practictioners are working on guidelines for gps. I got my supply of SOCKs leaflets and am ready to roll them out for world Ovarian Cancer Day in May. I emailed one of our local radio stations last week and got a mention for OC and also Bravehearts Choir which is a choir in Cork for anyone touched by Cancer. So killed two birds with the one stone. Awareness if definitely the key to an early diagnosis

Hi Suzuki, yes I heard you on red fm ,you came across very well. You will get great support from Neil Prendeville in regards to advertising the choir etc.My friends are organising a 7klm run for May and the money will be going to ARC house so I'm happy about that.Have a wonderful Easter.I know you'll have good scan results.xx

Bravehearts did some fundraising for Arc House as they initially supported the choir in helping to start it up. They are absolutely brilliant up there, when you feel down. Ovacare helps in another way by helping you meet people in the same situation as yourself, this is also important because then you dont feel so much alone, Friends dont understand fully and everyone has their own problems as well. I would be happy to have stable again but its been six months since last scan so hopefully all will be okay

Yes I would have been lost without Ovacare and I've advertised both them and sock.I find it a wonderful relief to read stories from women who are still fighting the fight 4 or more yrs down the rd,It gives me hope.
