It is fantastic that Ovarian Cancer is getting mentioned in the media. I saw Anne from Charleville on TV 3 this evening with Paul Byrne. She is one brave lady taking on this task of awareness also. I have emailed Irish College General Practitioners as they have a conference in May part of which runs on Ovarian Cancer Day. I have yet to get a reply.

I just had a look at that now and she is amazing. That is correct about the ICGP conference. Ovacare, sock and the emer casey foundation have met with the irish college of general practitioners last week and they have agreed to release a statement on world ovarian cancer day with the charities.

Brilliant news, ye were already on it and got a good result. My cousin in America is also writing to the Irish Papers at that time about her recent visit to Ireland and the reason for it, being her aunt on her fathers side died of OC two weeks after diagnosis. She has done pieces on word press which have been published as a letter to the editor on Irish Times and Examine

Hi girls.Im so glad you thought I was ok on tv3.it all started with an interview on limerick 95 fm And took off big time from there.I have also done an interview with U.T.V Ireland and RTE radio 1.its all about awareness.I didn't know if I was doing right or wrong.I mentioned Ovacare ireland and Sock as as the sites for information on O.C.Some of the headlines were bit over the top though.I haven't got weeks left to live (unless my husband kills me over our wedding pics on t.v 3 ha ha.We got to hit while the iron is hot because next week this will be old news.xxxxx

Hi Cath40.Thanks for the support.I think the interview on Utv ireland last night was better because after my interview on the 10 o clock news they had a specialist gyneoncologist discussing the CA125 and genetic testing. The only problem I saw was,he didn't go in to detail about the symptoms of O.C,generally feeling unwell is not going to educate women on the signs and symptoms.xx

I am doing well thank God over 4 years ago now I was caught stage 1 another month was told would have been in big trouble. I had hysterectomy and 6 months chemo was tough time. Had my apt with consultant wed so always feel a bit nervous just get hormone patch stops me going into menopause. Other then that good working full time do contracts now getting very stressed with work but one thing having that experience make me constantly assess. I don't like getting stressed I know ridiculous but before I got ill was majorly stressed in a previous job so always link the illness to stress which I know there is no proof. Anyway will stop work june enjoy summer with my kids life so precious thank god every day it was harrowing experience

I can only imagine the stress you are going through. It seems to be part of every woman's life.Im so glad you were caught in time and that now they will keep a closer eye on things .Yes life is precious and our time is precious.Children will remember for life the happy memories we make with them.Having a stressful job is definitely not good for your wellbeing so, I think if you are ready to give up work in June, you will have made the right decision for you.xx

Hello to all. I seem to keep missing the interviews that some of you wonderful women are doing -so just wanted to sent best wishes and grateful thanks to you for bringing OC to the fore.

I so envy your confidence & ability to talk to those who don't know and while remaining calm, can describe the symptoms and your own situation -so well done.

Also, of course, the postings seem to arrive at various different times - some I get quickly and others take a few days to get through.

Best wishes to all as we head towards Easter - which I gather won't be sunny and warm, the only easter bonnets we will need, will be wooly ones.

Regards,

Daisies
