There are so many contradictory information in regards to supplements like Calcium and what kind , K , etc. Can anyone suggest 2-3 that has worked for them? I have a healthy diet but feel I need take something extra to stay away from meds. Help! Condition is Osteoporosis. Just ordered my LIV that I’m excited to start using.

I try to get my calcium from dietary sources (I use this site to help me theros.org.uk/information-a... I’m sure there will be a US version I eat a lot of oily fish, pulses, nuts and seeds etc.
I also take a capsule of seaweed based calcium every day as a top up (not Algaecal as it is too expensive) Vitamin D3 capsule - I test my levels regularly and vary between 1000 and 3000iu, I also take K2-Mk7 and Magnesium plus boron. I’m in the U.K. and most of my vitamins come from the U.K. or Europe so I’m not sure what brands you have in the US. Hope that’s some help.
I looked and looked for a calcium that is plant based and found 'Plant Fusion Algae Based Calcium', It contains ingredients (from my research) that are needed to support calcium assimilation. I had to start on this slowly because I had trouble with digestion. You'll find Stontium, Boron, Silica, K2, Vanadium, magnesium, D3. It was the most complete supplement I could find. Interesting that my diet is largely similar to yours. However, I have been a vegetarian for decades, so don't really eat fish. Of course, I wonder if my osteoporosis is genetic or caused by diet, but of course most people aren't vegetarians who have it. So hard to know what causes what and what supplements are consistently effective . I do take vitamin d3, and a few other supplements, but not vitamin K, although maybe that would help.
I have also been a vegetarian for decades and have osteoporosis, but like you mentioned, the vast majority of people who have osteoporosis eat meat and still have it. So many factors seem to come into play. I take d3 too and some other supplements. Had taken K for a few months, but then wasn't sure it was needed, so I stopped. I also have arthritis everywhere, but so did my mom. Not sure myself what might work best, but have always thought exercise was important and did some mild form daily.
I take 400 IU of D3 daily. Many foods are fortified with D, and because it is a fat-soluble vitamin, your body stores it. My doctor prescribed 5000IU daily and then a blood test showed my levels to be excessive. Some recent studies show that for many people, unless you never go outside, the D supplements are not necessary, so thinking on D supplements is changing. I also take a vitamin K supplement.
Also I was taking two daily tablets of Citracal Petites, but have cut back to one just as a backstop to what is in food. I check the labels when possible to see if a food is fortified. calcium carbonate will show up on the list of ingredients. Call me a skeptic but there was formerly a phase where calcium from coral was declared by some purveyors to be much better, and it turned out that it was a marketing ploy. The algae calcium might be the new coral calcium. The real benefit is to eat the right foods to get the nutrients you need and food has the added bonus of phyto nutrients that you will not get from supplements. Plus, if you overdo the calcium supplements, as the more is better temptation can be strong, they can result in constipation at the very least, and unpleasantness such as kidney stones.

What was the value of that excessive level for vitamin D?
My endocrinologist (one of them, as I saw multiple in last 3 years) recommends I reach 50 ng/mL. I am not even close, and have been supplementing with 4-5000 IU/day D3)
I also tried during the summer (May-July) to walk outside in the sun daily around noon for about 20 minutes without sunscreen and shorts/tshirt for skin to be exposed. I actually got a decrease in my blood levels, measured before and after these 3 months. I dropped from 35 ng/mL to 32 ng/mL (without supplements during that time).
I am now sure I need vitamin D3 supplements year round, even if I walk outside and there is plenty of sun. I usually wear sunscreen at least on face.

However, my own blood tests prove that I do need supplements, and in higher dose (with monitoring of calcium in urine to prevent any kidney stones)
I also need High amounts of D3 all year long. I was diagnosed with MS 10 years ago and they found low D. Little did I know I also had low bone density too. I started taking 5000 iu a day. that puts me at about 60 on the blood test. It is an immunity booster and very protective against relapse and some cancers. Unfortunatly I was dairy free for the last 10 years so the d by itself did nothing for my bones as I have osteoprosis now! So now I take ALIVE calcium with 5000 iu of D3, magnisum. I also have many skin cancers so I noticed when I started piling on sunscreen my levels dropped. Its a balancing act.
I think 50 is a great place to be with D3. I wouldn't stop taking it.
Yeah, I have osteoporosis too. I don't know the cause of my problem though. Already had fractures at 38, so I thought I need a DEXA scan. It showed OP levels.
I am now a little above 30ng/mL with vit D and taking supplements (a lot of them).
Sunscreen, even as low as 15SPF, reduces production of vitamin D with 99,9%
I try and use a good brand of d3. I use Thorne d3 with K2. I did notice my numbers went up when i added the K2 even though my endo said nobody in America need extra K. Have they checked for parithyroid issues? My husband also has OP and that is his cause they found out and he can not take calcium because there is too much calcium in his blood! So many moving parts and everyone is different.
I have normal Calcium in blood (it's in the lower half of normal though)
I take K2-MK7, and am taking more of it now, will see if things improve. I'll test again D levels in 3 months.
Also Mg bisglycinate (about 4-500 mg elemental magnesium per day).
I did have a blood test for Parathyroid hormone (PTH) once couple years ago and it was normal. I did that on my own, as doctors seem pretty baffled or uninterested.
Was basically told that's how I am and medicine can't help me. Obviously, I'm not seeing that endocrinologist anymore.
I try to get my calcium with food but find I don't get enough. I supplement with a powder form dissolved in water - Thorne Cal-Mag Citrate and I really like it. For me the best K is drops by Thorne called K2.
I have read over the years that Calcium Citrate is the best absorbed form. Good luck! Also, taking it several times a day works best.

About Strontium - since I saw it mentioned in one of the other comments, I think it's good to be aware of this:

I am new to all of this as well, and trying to avoid meds, so I have started using AlgaeCal Plus and Strontium Boost (also made by AlgaeCal). These supplements follow as closing as recommended by the Combs Study for Osteoporosis. (I also added just a bit more Vit K). I have been on these for just over a month (my doc did take a lot at them as well). I have decided to give this one year and see how it does. I have also purchased a Whole Body Vibration Plate (by LifePro - Rumblex 4D), and I am using it 10 min/day. I have also started intermittent fasting (eating mostly between 11am-7pm). This allows your body/bones (supposedly) more time to recover and build back by not continuously having to process foods. Giving more time for your bones to produce more "osteoblasts" (the good stuff). I am continuing to read all I can. If you go this route, I'd start the Strontium Boost maybe half dose at first. I found it can be a bit uncomfortable on the intestines at first. As far as the Vibration Plate…I love it! It is also tremendously good for your lymphatic system, circulatory system, inflammation, etc.
