How long do bad side effects last after stopping Risedronate Sodium?

I’m new here and recently was placed on Risedronate Sodium 35mg. After 3weeks the muscle pain in my groin area hamstrings and gluts was so bad l couldn’t sit without having pain. I told dr I was stopping meds and would go supplemental route and take my chances that way without side effects. Does anyone know how long the side effects last after stopping the meds? I have been off meds for 4 weeks now and they seem a little less severe but still can’t sit for any length of time. Any info would be appreciated as I have not been able to find information on this and the doctor doesn’t have a clue

Don’t know about Risedronate but when I stopped taking Alendronic after four months for a similar reason I went back to my old self fairly quickly - I’ve just asked my husband and he said ‘probably about a month / six weeks”.

So bearing in mind I was taking a different bisphosphonate for longer and everyone is different and you are feeling a slightly better then hopefully it won’t take too long for you to feel more like your old self.

Thank you! I just went to gynecologist yesterday and she said they say 1 month or so so plan on 2 months. I feel better today knowing there is hope at the end of the tunnel. It has been a long 4 months
