Phosphorus - ALT Phos!?

Hi! I was wondering if your alt phos is high, would taking MCHC calcium, which has phosphorus in it, be okay? I wasn’t sure if phosphorus and alt phosphate are related.

Hi Clementine44, not sure what you mean by alt phosphate. Are you talking about alkaline phosphatase? That is an enzyme that is involved in many different processes in your body. High levels on a test indicate high bone turnover. I don't know how taking supplements would affect that. Maybe someone else knows? Have you run this by a health care professional? Why were you tested for alkaline phosphatase?

Yes, the Alt Phos that is on a CBC. I haven’t asked a doctor, just wondering if anyone possibly knew…
