Hiatus hernia

Hi have a hiatus hernia awaiting endoscopy as symptoms not settling with my PPI. My main symptom is now pain in top of back. Anyone have this?

I get a lot of pain, in back, in left upper side of ribs, it seems everywhere. I don’t think there’s a place that I don’t hurt. Try not to think the worst, I know easier said than done. If ppi’s are not working for you then look at natural, herbal remedies. I was not responding to the Pepcid after a while (though I still had to take it because of the rebound) so I’m very glad that I found the slippery elm. Have you tried a naturopath? I love those guys. They try all kinds of natural things. My regular doctor is quite useless. She has not helped me even once in all these years. All she ever wants me to do is tests, and more tests as she gets more money from that.

Thank you for that. So annoying. I had a tin vegetable soup last night after hour my chest was really hurting. Obviously tomato and onion in it. Did settle with Gaviscon.

Ya, gotta read those labels. I make my own soup and stay away from canned anything. I peel sweet potatoes and chop them up and put in celery and mushrooms. When cooked after 20 minutes I purée it. No added spices and this is my go to. You can add whatever foods are your favourite. I try to never put more than 4 or 5 different vegetables because I find that too much for my stomach to handle.

I took have a hiatus hernia although it is rarely I have on going symptoms, I have had reflux issues recently,I did get the back discomfort upper middle a recent endoscopy picked up mild gastitis,the hernia wasn't mentioned,I believe tinned soup can trigger reflux as it is processed,I have tried to steer clear of too much processed food as it didn't agree with me
