Very relieved .......

I am very relieved to say that the results of the biopsy from my recent endoscopy querying suspected Barretts have come back as negative.

All other biopsy also clear.

I know I am extremely lucky , it has been a very worrying time and it was such a relief to be able to tell my son as well.

I have to remain on esomeprazole because of the hiatus hernia and there are other medications apparently which my GP can offer as well as this. Not too sure what they are yet until I get the report. In the longer term if the hernia continues to be an issue it is sliding 3cm they may consider surgery, although I am hoping it can be managed by medication.

The GI consultant actually rang me at just after 7.15pm yesterday evening when I had thought I would not hear from him so I was very grateful to him for that.

Just wanted to say that I have appreciated all your posts and support so much

thank you all

I'm delighted for you.I assume you're aware that longterm use of PPIs affects bone density.

Thank you .yes I am aware of the PPI long term issues and am therefore wondering if surgery for the hernia may be the way forward. However I guess it has to be weighed up as I understand it’s not a small operation. ?
