I have found to my cost that I have to steer clear of chocolate too. Looking back I think this has always affected me, even when a child as I always used to have bilious attacks after eating it. Am a slow learner! Very interesting to learn that you have the same problem - thank you for sharing. My sister has been diagnosed with Barrett's and takes Lansoprozole daily which works for her.
Good luck with your ongoing treatment and hope it settles quickly for you.
Hi i just came across your post. My mother had Barretts and I think I might have inherited my condition from her. Although actually not diagnosed yet I do have a hiatus hernia and during the endoscopy there was to quote from the notes "a possibility of Barretts tongue" whatever that implies and therefore a biopsy was taken. I am really worried about it. My reflux is not too bad in all honesty. But I do take esomeprazole 20mg twice a day and also use Gaviscon Advance.
Please can you tell me how your Barretts was diagnosed and how if it was graded as to how it should be monitored. I am really scared it could develop to oesophageal cancer.
