When in my accommodation i just can't sleep normally. I went to sleep at midnight, woke up at 4am. Tried to go to class around 1:30pm but i missed it, got back to sleep and wake up now at almost 8pm. I tried to go to sleep at 8pm, woke up at like 2 nauseous as hell. It's most normal to me here to go to sleep around 6am and wake up at 5pm. But i feel terrible because it's already dark and everything is closing when i get hungry. Especially when having classes it's a nightmare. But i just can't sleep at night and stay awake at day. My acid reflux gets worse at night and especially when laying down. And my mood is insane. Like i could survive a couple days and one class but i totally messed up today both class and my mental and physical health. Idk what is so wrong here. It's like a curse. Tho i know it's probably just my anxiety and acid reflux

Sleep curse
Hello, oh dear you have got yourself in to a muddle. You sound like me when I was younger, and more recently when I got acid reflux. The most important thing is to keep to regular normal hours, even if you don't sleep, just resting and being quiet in the dark without worrying will be ok until you get back to a sensible pattern of normal bedtime and getting up time. Imagine you are floating away in the bottom of a boat. Keep the room not too hot, you can add a blanket later. If you are getting tense, read for a while, something different to what you normally read. Set an alarm clock, I still do this even though I don't have to get up.Put a big book or something under the mattress, or find some way to prop up your upper chest without hurting your neck. If you lie on your side try not to squash your heart and oesophagus area.
Do not eat for 3 hours before bedtime. Don't eat onion or garlic type things at all.
I have made all these changes and feel almost completely better.
Best wishes.
Forgot to mention the breathing. When you get in bed do the diaphragm breathing. Place your hand lightly on your stomach and breathe in for 4 seconds, you will feel it rise under your hand, hold for 2, then breathe out long and slow. You can do it standing too. Many years of evolution have made us sleep when it's dark, so go with it.
I have found cutting down on acid forming foods has helped me with heartburn and acid reflux. I hope things improve for you soon.
