ZERO TASTE AFTER PAXLOVID COVID

I had Covid back in September 2022. I am pretty healthy at 71 and had my shots. First time to get it and it was pretty intense. I was given Paxlovid and afte 2 weeks I felt better however my taste was zero with little smell. I went through the holdups with no taste and come March I got it again out in SAT so I stayed in my hotel for 5 days. I shad not taste or smell prior to getting it again so I didn’t go the Paxlovid but stayed and extra 5 days in the Marriott hotel and rented a car to drive back 1700 miles by myself from San Antonio to Amelia Island Fl. so I didn’t risk infections someone on the plane. Tested positive on the trip at each hotel I stayed at but felt better when I got home 4 days later.

Now here I am at 10 months next week 27 lbs lighter and still no taste. You know its hard to explain when you can’t taste and rely on texture (pork rinds, granola, cucumbers, pretzels, fried foods)which I never eat) to satisfy a meal. We just celebrated our 50th with our 6 granddaughters in OBX and my sons had the food catered to which it was upsetting not to enjoy fresh seafood.

Anyway,I am eating oranges, lemons and ginger as I was told to try to get my taste back. Hopefully it comes back by years end because its not something I wouldn’t wish on anyone.

Thanks for hearing me out.

STAY SAFE,STAY WELL,STAY SMILING!!!
