I am having these weird early morning episodes. Pounding head and heart, anxious stomach, hot. I have been treated for anxiety but I link these episodes to sugary foods, gluten, a glass of wine. I am going to start taking my Lansoprazole at bedtime instead of the morning. I will let you know how it goes after a week.
Night time reflux?: I am having these... - Acid Reflux Support
Night time reflux?
I have had acid reflux for years and it had slowly been getting worse until it inflamed my oesophagus and my specialist told me i had to make some changes to my lifestyle. The burning and nausea was ruining my life so i was ready to try anything. I had been on a Esomeprazole 20mg for a few weeks, taking it at night but it only helped a little bit. However in the last month i've managed to stop it completely by eliminating my food triggers which are fatty/fried foods, spicy foods, sugar and alcohol. Note i can get away with some fatty food at breakfast but it seems later in the day is a no no. Then adding to this, not eating anything 3 hours prior to going to sleep. This may not work for everyone but it's been so effective for me that i have been able to slowly stop my PPI meds. Hopefully just changing your medication time works. Good luck with it!
hello will be interested to see how you get on. Mine is linked to stress (even very minor things can cause) and certain foods. I can cope in day generally but evenings are worst as can often trigger racing heart, reflux feeling coming in the throat and then I end up struggling to sleep. Good luck. I might try taking myself later in the day.
Mine was also night-time only, chest pains waking me up every morning. I followed the advice of not eating before sleep but it actually made it worse. I only realised when, one night, I was so hungry, trying not to eat before bed that I cracked and had some food, then went to bed. Got my first decent night's sleep for months. So it's the opposite for me, seems like my stomach needs something to work on at night. I've also cut out as much junk food as possible, got off the meds, take a bunch of gut-fixing supplements etc. Now I sleep really well and have no problems, although I'm aware that if I eat crazy amounts of junk food it starts to creep back. Good thing really, keeps me away from a really terrible diet
Took Lansoprazole morning and evening for the week. I can’t continue twice daily as I also have Osteoporosis. Too soon to say if the nighttime tablet works. I have had some better nights. I also don’t eat after 18.30 and only have a few sips of water. Sugary foods aren’t good but I find them impossible to resist.
