Lactose Intolerant, Alternatives to Omezrapole?

Hi there.

I have a hiatus hernia and suffer from silent reflux. Month ago started a bad flare with the reflux and a gastritis.

I normally control by diet and rely on the Omezrapole only when I have a flare. And then I take twice daily.

This flare has been particularly bad and I haven't yet been able to reduce the dose .the issue is the omezrapole after a few days,.makes me very bloated, windy and nauseous. I have now found out they contain lactose which I avoid as I am extremely sensitive to.

The omezrapole is now making me really ill, waiting for appointment with doctor,.but has anyone else here had this issue and can offer any advice 🤞🤞 thank you.

Girllifter, these links may offer an alternative to products you are using. The vagus nerve is connected to the sphincter valves in addition to many other places in the gut requiring control by the brain. Magnesium is needed to activate vitamin B1 (thiamine) for the proper function of this system. Unfortuantely, both magnesium and thiamine is often deficient in the diet and even supplemental levels fall short. Anti thiamine factors listed in the stuttersense link diminish or destroy thiamine. Magnesium also can be lost from stress, sweating, and caffeine plus others found by searching on krispin magnesium. The eonutrition links offer a good explanation of how the digestive system function. By using a B complex supplement once a day complemented with just higher supplementation of thiamine three times a day and of course increasing magnesium levels according to the formula found in krispin should offer the relief you seek. Always consult your health care professional before using any supplement.

How much thiamine HCL do you think is wise? You mention 3 x a day but I’m not sure how much each dose nor if you can take too much? My daughter is the same as the author in this post and in a terrible way. Thank you 🙏

Dee286, at the bottom of the eonutrition links is information on high dose thiamine and other topics. This healthrising link is a survey of individuals using thiamine for the listed conditions on the extension. Their dosage varied based on their experience with the form they were using. Because thiamine HCI is water soluble it does not build up in the body. My three a day suggestion was based on the deteriorating condition being experienced. As you research the subject of thiamine, your daughter may respond to lower doses twice a day. In my own case, I used three a day and am now using a maintence regimen of one B complex with one high dose thiamine at breakfast along with with 250 mg of magnesium glycinate and one high dose thiamine at supper with 250 mg of magnesium glycinate. As I mentioned, consult a health care professional especially in the nutritional field.

I take Lansoprazole and don’t have any side effects. May be worth trying. Good luck!

I was changed from Omeprazole to Lansoprazole as the Omeprazole didn't suit me. I can't remember what my symptoms were as it was so long ago, but I remember I couldn't tolerate it. xx Moy

I have a hiatus hernia and in march this year I was dianosed with Esophagitis and found it difficult to eat as I got the feeling food was stuck in my throat. Dr put me on Lansoprazole which I took for a couple of months but it made me feel worse and so ill so I stopped taking it. I have since been told that these medications actually make it worse. I lost 3 stone from not being about to eat. I now can eat normally and that is down to a Dr on youtube advising that we should take Organic Wheatgrass and Calcium lactate. Calcium lactate is hard to find in the UK but I got it in powder form from Amazon. I took it everyday for 3 months and now I have them 3 times a week. I still get a feeling of a lump in the throat but its not as bad and does not happen all the time. I usually find it when I eat something I shouldn't which gives me acid reflux. If the tablets are making you ill I would stop them but come off them slowly. Take one every other day. Look for something natural for your symptoms. I feel so much better but do your research to find what suits you. There are Dr's on youtube that give good advice. Also raise the head of the bed (not mattress) by 4-6inches as that helps with acid reflux at night.
