I had a Nissen Fudoplication almost 15 years ago. I believe I overate several months ago. While I’ve had anxiety disorder and have been on medication for that for many years as well. Since that time I’ve been diagnosed with gastritis and have had nothing but anxiety troubles with my stomach since that time. My question is what are the chances the NF surgery “slipped” or came undone causing my issues? I’m desperate for advice or help regarding this. Thank you.

NF Overeating question

Hi, sorry to hear you are having problems with anxiety and gastritis. I too suffer with gastritis, hiatal hernia and anxiety. Worse symptom is acid reflux, especially at night, my throat is always burnt and sore in the morning despite medication and sleeping upright. I have considered the NF surgery, but read that it only lasts around 10 years and can be hit and miss for some people, which has put me off a bit. How did you get on for the first ten years or so after the op.?
Omeprazole had been working for me without many other issues. If I could do it over I would not have the surgery I’ll put it that way. But it was not terrible. I just feel as though nothing has been right with my stomach since the surgery. I’ve always had this, I don’t know how to describe it, phantom pain(s) and slight nausea for a very long time. Also I still have to take the omeprazole anyway because my GERD is so bad that it physically hurt my stomach.
