Acid reflux : Hello ive ended up in... - Acid Reflux Support
Acid reflux
That sounds horrible. I can't say that reflux has been that extreme for me although I do feel like I have something stuck in my throat and I have burning sensation in my mouth. Did the hospital offer you any advice on how to cope? Are you taking any meds? Have you had any investigations?
Its drove me nuts to the point I'm scared to eat ,I am eating but really watching what I eat ,I've alot of things wrong with me but that has tipped me over the edge its scared me to death it feels like you are being strangled or a small ball stuck and more you try swallow then that makes you feel like your nose is being blocked at same time so you start to panic and the more you panic makes it even worse but when you feel like you have no air your going to panic, they gave me something in a mask wasn't oxygen but something else I'm on tablets and gaviscon advance but it can happen again at any point : (
Its so easy to get into a vicious cycle with reflux. Anxiety can affect your stomach and cause reflux. It can make me feel like I've swallowed a golf ball. My doc asked me to keep a diary of foods I'd eaten to work out which caused reflux. He also advised to eat little and often and not too late at night. It may be worth learning some breathing techniques to keep yourself calm. I know how it feels to be scared about it. When my mouth has been burning for a number of days it really gets me down. My sister has the same thing and her doctor prescribed antidepressants. I think you need to get professional help for this. Good luck.
You need to see your ENT doctor that is Ear Nose And Throat to check you for post nasal dripping that’s the stuff you feel in the back of your throat lots of junk dripping down from your sinuses to your throat I have this disease so go see ent doc
I had something similar (the sensation of pressure of my larynx) last year. I’d had intermittent episodes for about six months and then it suddenly became more frequent. Eventually, having had a disturbed night of sleep as a result of it I rang my local surgery and got an appointment that day. The GP I spoke to referred me on an urgent basis to ENT - I was seen within two weeks.
Talk to your GP and request (if the GP doesn’t suggest it) a referral to ENT.
Yes I also get that and I find it gets worse later in the day. I used to panic which made it worse so when it happens I try to just relax and take deep breaths. In my case its excess mucus from post nasal drip which sometimes makes me sick after eating as all I bring up is mucus The mucus seems to slow down the food going down the oesophagus so I can feel it sticking in my throat even though I only have soft food. It seems to have got worse since I started taking Lansoprazole because on the odd days I have forgotten to take my tablets it has not been as bad and I eat more.
