My son has been coughing up white stuff. But he also has sores in mouth throat months now and gp has given him oesomaprazole. Son 43. I dont know why hes got given PPIs. But his mouth isnt any better 4 months now. Hes had a chest zray all ok. His breath sorry to say smells disgusting. I am a nagging mum and told him see doctor as you must have infection somewhere. He said he would. Hes been gargling with asprin as only thing helps relieve pain. And salt water . Still sore very abd pongs.

Has anyone any ideas. It cant be thrush as tongue ok.and a nurse wasnt bothered but ive said see gp not nurse and maybe you need see ENT or gastro.

Hello. It sounds like thrush even if the tongue isn’t coated. Suggest he sees dentist. Also check if the Gp did an HbA1c test for diabetes.

I find propolis mouthwash very good for thrush.
