I was just wondering what sort of thing other parents do to make some time for themselves. We all need a bit of headspace sometimes. How do you balance looking after your children and looking after yourself?

What do you do for you?
Hi, my main go to is podcasts - mainly comedy podcasts about parenting and life to keep my mood lifted. I have a whole range I listen to depending on my mood and it can often help me feel less on my own when Im on my own with children so much. I often listen with headphones or one ear bud depending on what time/space I have. I used to love reading also as a good way of escapism and time to myself, but I get a lot less time now and my focus is split between the children and life so it’s hard to fit reading in. Another favourite thing I also sometimes really love doing is getting a little treat for myself every now and then. Something like a nice smelling moisturiser, or pretty / comfy pair of socks or a more fancy brand of coffee. Sounds silly but I never used to look for myself and I now really enjoy using those items over the following weeks. It really helps when so much of my time can be taken up looking after everyone else, especially when with as much planning as possible me time doesn’t always happen. 😊
