I have had ongoing burning throat on my right side for a year. It initially started out as a infection but this has cleared and I'm left with burning continuously in the day. No problems at night . I had a MRI clear and throat endoscopy though the guy who did it said all was normal and I had strep throat. The pain isn't near the vocal cords its more at the back of the throat near were my tonsils are. I sent for a peptest which showed I had high levels of pepsin. So I thought it must be sikent reflux. I went to see a GI doc who said the peptest is not used routinely and pepsin just gets swallowed down . I have read differently. My question s are has anyone used a peptest and if so was your doctors satisfied to use it as a reading for silent reflux? Secondly does anyone else get silent reflux on just one side?
