5 years out from IL op and still getting night time silent reflux, take both lansoperazole and renitidene before bed, don’t usually eat late and sleep on electric raised bed (which stops the horrible burning bile reflux). Now giving me a constant sore throat and dry cough worse in the morning. Advice welcome

Although I don't suffer as much as you do (post IL 2 yrs) I sometimes sleep in my reclining armchair as I find the electric bed (I have one too) doesn't give me enough lift and I can slip down during the night. Make sure that you really are propped up by the bed. I hope I'm not teaching you how to suck eggs. Good luck.
I’m the same as slobjohnb - electric bed doesn’t give me enough support - I need to sleep pretty much bolt upright or I get a terrible cough for hours - I sleep on the sofa - also on Lansoprazole but I have a slice of toast at 8pm every night which helps soak up acid and Gaviscon double action at bedtime - all the best
Just try eating a hot Chinese curry about 3 hours before bed. I have been doing this for a long time now. The only time I wake up choking on the bile is when I don't have a curry. It can be a bit boring but better than the choking. Good luck
I was having Bile Reflux almost every night about 4AM and that was being aspirated and causing constant cases of aspirational pneumonia.
I was also told nothing by mouth 4 hours before bedtime.
I then found a cure for the bile by mistake. I now take two florstar probiotic capsules and drink 16 ounces of water each night about 10 PM. I am now sleeping through the night with no bile reflux.
Btw. I also sleep inclined on my electric bed. I also know I can’t sleep on my left side or that will instigate bile reflux within minutes no matter what I drink/take.
Florastor is a leading brand of over the counter daily probiotic supplement. I just bought a bottle of 100 at Walmart.com for about $50 US. Just put Florastor in your web browser and you should find multiple sites selling it. Many people take probiotics every day or when they are taking a regimen of antibiotics.
Hi, I would explain your condition to your family physician or a gastroenterologist, maybe they would be able to recommend a solution to your problem. I do not have any reflux issues so I cannot assist. Sorry, and best of luck.
