Post surgery radiation

Hi everyone. I had my surgery a month ago and all went well. Yesterday, my oncologist cleared me to resume chemotherapy next week (this will be a further 4 cycles of FLOT, over about 8 weeks), but she also mentioned for the 1st time that I will probably need radiation after that, as the surgeon was unable to obtain clear margins. I am totally resigned to having more chemo and have been expecting it all along, but the thought of having radiation at this stage frankly terrifies me. If you are one of those who had radiation after your surgery I would really appreciate hearing about your experience and any advice you may be able to offer me.

I am sorry you are having to go through this but believe me if they thought it wouldn’t help you wouldn’t be offered it so (scary as it sounds ) go go go with it.

Grasp every single bit of help and advice you can and don’t worry about tomorrow .....just think that you have a today when you awake and then try take a day at a time

Best wishes for your ongoing treatment and the unexpected road you are travelling x
