Gastritis and oesophagitis for 5 years now

I've had gastritis and oesophagitis 5 years now. The burning pain all inbetween my shoulders that spreads all through down into my middle back has been unbearable. Its eased a little with 2 esomaprasol a day and 2 Rinitidine a day and Gaviscon. I take other meds for depression and have read that Amitryptiline my psychiatrist has added can help with pain. But can it help with oesophagitis and gastritis I wonder. I try to avoid fatty spices foods but now I'm always hungry.
