I have both of these and suffer terrible pain on eating sometimes for hours as if everything inside is inflamed. I take Gaviscon and acid suppressants but they don't help. Does anyone here have the same. The burning pain is all inbetween my shoulders and all through me down to my back....I cry a lot.

My Gastroenterologist prescribed Carafate to cure this problem and and Dexilant, a PPI, to help prevent recurrence. This was used a few years back with good success and no recurrence since.

I was given this....

It burned terribly

It didn't burn when going down but the granules from crushing the pill in water were difficult to get down. They did not dissolve in water as the DR prescribed. They normally are taken whole but my Dr stated they had to be crushed and dissolved in water in hopes of coating the remaining esophagus and stomach. The whole pill would just pass through without treating the problem.
