Does anyone else intrusive thoughts gets worse during their menstrual cycle? Today I noticed my intrusive thoughts were particularly higher today plus I was paranoid as hell. Well I’ve been paranoid ever since the Facebook stalking started last week. I’ve been going out and I’ve felt fine until today which is when my period started(tmi I’m sorry)and that’s when an intrusive thought popped up when I was Out in public then I spotted a lady looking at me which made it worse because then I became paranoid that the intrusive thought was true and that somehow I had did something i wasn’t suppose to do and she had noticed or something, I’m telling you, I don’t know what is up with today ! Smh

I've had OCD for so many years, and I found it went up and down according to my menstrual cycle. If I had PMS it made the OCD worse. The pimple and the cramps I could cope with; the extra OCD I could really do without!

I still find that I have a sort of monthly cycle, though I stopped menstruating several years ago. The monthly cycle persists post-menopause, though it isn't as strong as before. But it does mean that I get more irritable and the OCD is worse on a monthly basis.

Perhaps consider a daily dose of vitamin B6, which can help with PMS generally as it could have a knock-on effect on the OCD.

Thankyou , I will start taking B6 today. I have dysmenorrhea on top of all of it . I’m feeling somewhat better today . Pms and ocd isn’t a good mix lol
