Don't stop taking it suddenly unless either a doctor or the instructions that come with the prescription say so. Side effects from stopping an antidepressant can be severe.

So talk to your GP tomorrow as a matter of urgency. Make sure you get to speak to them, just in case the reception staff try to put you off.

There is some allowance made for urgent appointments in spite of the Coronavirus.

I'm afraid I haven't had experience of either duloxetine or the symptoms you describe, though my menstrual cycle did made a difference to my OCD symptoms and still does, post menopause.

I've just been reading the leaflet that comes with duloxetine online. The excessive bleeding is listed among 'rare' side effects, but it does not say you need to stop taking it immediately.

I hope this helps!

Thank you My Doctors are pretty good we have the ask my GP thing where I can go online with them then they ring me. Was just putting this on here to see if it has affected anyones cycles I have heard can affect prolactin levels in some women.

I had prolactin troubles when I was put onto a drug called sulpiride. Only a low dose, but it still affected me quite badly. Antipsychotics like sulpiride are often used in cases of OCD to boost the effects of SSRI antidepressants.

Sulpiride caused my periods to stop altogether, which I assumed was the menopause a few years early. It also made me put on two and a half stone! I came off it quite quickly, and my periods returned until my actual menopause a few years later. As for the weight, I'm still trying to lose that!

I now take a different drug called aripiprazole alongside my sertraline, and have found it much better.
