Different meds suit different people and what works for one doesn't always work for another. It can be a matter of trial and error. I've been on a combination of sertraline and an anti-psychotic called aripiprazole which in low doses boosts the sertraline. Anti-psychotics have a bad reputation as they can make you put on weight and I was reluctant to try it, but I'm glad I did. I had a previous bad experience with sulpiride which did make me put on weight but aripiprazole is much better and I haven't gained weight on it.
