The problem is that OCD targets things that matter most to you. In this case, it's your relationship and though you don't give details, I imagine that it's putting doubt into your mind about it. How much does your partner know how you feel?

Hi thank you for your reply, I have told my husband everything and he is very understanding. My obsession at the moment is panicking about ever falling out of love or suddenly wanting to leave him :-( it tears me apart every single day to imagine it! He is my best friend .

It is good that you can be open with your husband. That's just typical of OCD, making you doubt even your deepest feelings. Try not to ruminate; easier said than done, I know! The more you allow yourself to doubt, the worse the doubts get, even though you know how strong your relationship and your feelings for your husband are! Feel free to post on here whenever you like and I am happy to listen. I've had similar feelings, and know what it can be like.

Thank you for your reply! It’s absolutely terrifying me this anxiety, I don’t want to leave my husband i am very happy with him! And I know this instantly when I’m not panicking. It’s when I panic that it seems to take over and I’m so scared that it’s going to change my feelings for him some how and I’ll just get up and leave! I really can’t stand the thought of that happening! How do you deal with yours?

Medication can help take the worst of the feelings off. So do consider it if you are not on it already. It can also make CBT therapy techniques easier to carry out.

But it's not just a case of medicating it away. One of the many vile things about OCD is that it makes us doubt all kinds of things, even our deepest feelings, and learning to live with that doubt, not ruminate on it, and just get on with things is part of the therapy. It's not easy. It's like learning to trust yourself when OCD is telling you not to. Remember that you know your own feelings much better than OCD does, and that you have a strong relationship with your husband. People do not suddenly fall out of love for no reason and it sounds like there is no reason for you to!
