I used to go through this as well, and its time consuming and frustrating but I dont think its necessarily a bad thing to be that way either. I've never viewed it as mentally ill. You dont scrub until you bleed, right? But ive morphed into pure o so its best to get some help before it turns into other unwanted obsessions. You will find alot of support here and I wish you luck ☺xo

Hi. Yeah I feel your pain. I have contamination OCD. Constantly wash my hands and every object I think is contaminated. Hate it!

This is very similar to what I have. If you're not currently engaging in therapy, I would recommend this. If you can't get an appointment, there are many self-help books that many find helpful to bridge the gap before therapy.

One of the main things I would say is that IT DOES GET BETTER. I was in a similar position for the last few years, but now I can live my life with much less anxiety and fear. I would really recommend therapy, as it was really helpful for me, and if you do do this fully engage with it to get the most benefits and improvement.

I hope this was helpful, and good luck!
