My mind is constantly torturing me.

Yesterday was pretty good, very little spikes, but today it did a complete 180, and I’ve been a wreck since noon. Still trying to stay positive though, I know I’ll overcome this eventually.

HI

You need to let the thoughts come, let them be, do nothing, and let them go. THis is part of the strategy that works with OCD. If you start with worrying about thoughts, and carry out mental or physical compulsion, you simply reinforce the thoughts- i.e. you make them stronger and you never get out of the loop.

There is n need to totally try to ignore all thoughts - just reduce the compulsions as much as you can and slowly this technique will get better ad it will give you a better perception and control over the thoughts.

Physical exercise and good sleep help in feeling more at ease with OCD.

In the meantime have a look at this article - a bit long but you can read it inn stages and skip then parts which are not interesting or are not relevant to you.

That's the attitude! It can and does improve. All of us get little setbacks with it, but we get past them. I'm a bit concerned that you aren't taking medication because you can't afford it. I know how hard that can be, once taking out the remaining £10 in a savings account for my prescription which was all the money I had! Not knowing where you live, I don't know if any help with paying for medication is available to you, but do get it if you can.

Praying To God Has Helped Me With the thoughts, they tend to Go Away A Lot Faster. And I Tend To Busy My Mind With Other Things, That, Mixed With Praying. Seems To Help For Me. I Arrest the thoughts And Give them Up To God, With their causes sometimes, And then they're gone.

Hope It Helps.
