I currently take fluoxetine 80mg for the OCD and 10 days ago was increased from 30mg Mirtazapine to 45mg for my depression & anxiety.
Just wandering if anyone is on this combination or other SSRI's and also on risperidone and how long did it take for the risperidone to take effect on their OCD thoughts?

Hi Dyanna,
I think the important thing to remember is that medication generally is not going to make OCD thoughts go away, the only way to tackle OCD is by changing our response to the thoughts for non-anxiety ones, and that comes through CBT.
Who prescribed the Risperidone? Is it just for OCD? The reason I ask is that a recent research project showed that Risperidone/SSRI was not effective for OCD compared to CBT/SSRI. I would be tempted to question the prescription to be honest.
I guess the upshot of my post is to encourage you to seek out CBT for your treatment if you are yet to do so.
hi dear I never took any medicine for OCD so far , First of all I realised OCD very lately say about four years back and its very mild and very silly ones . But I started meditation from 08 and all the negative thinking stiopped and also many thoths are filtered. Now even if any suggetion comes to follow certain pattern I have courage to say no to thoughts. Our Ancient Indian meditation has all the medicines in it
