I have been searching for vitamin-D tablets online for calcium deficiency. I am actually pretty skinny, so every time I hit somewhere, it hurts the bone pretty much more. So I searched online and saw it might be a vitamin deficiency. I came across plenty of websites, but there are quite a few. I wondered if anybody has experience buying tablets from online vitamin stores (vitamintree.ca/). Please advise me on good ones for vitamin-D deficiency.

You can get your serum D level checked easily. I would want to know what my levels are before taking any supplements.

Many variables will influence vitamin D. Including heritage and ancestry. How much exposure to the sunshine you have had in the summer months. In the UK, UV light during April and October tends to be too low to trigger a high vitamin D metabolism. We have light receptors on the skin, that via a lipid based process, triggers quite a complex process of converting sunlight into the active form of vitamin D (cholecalciferol, D3). The first step is in the liver, the second in the kidneys. As vitamin D is a fat soluble vitamin, it is stored in the body, meaning summer months can shore us up. However, it is also a vitamin that would need to be taken in very high doses to overdose. As a qualified integrative health practitioner (including a qualified naturopathic nutritionist), in the holistic field of medicine, we know vitamin D has a profound effect on many processes in the body. If you have a diagnosed calcium deficiency, then speak to the person or team that made that diagnosis and then research based on that. Please be discerning too on where you seek your information from, and then develop a deeper awareness of trusting your intuition. A lipid based liquid form of vitamin D is preferable for absorption.
