Hello Carole I don't know this particular drug but for standard DMARDs and biologics blood tests are usually carried out every 2 weeks for the first 3 months to see if it has a positive effect on your inflammation levels and also to monitor potential side effects, e.g. regarding liver function. If all is well after 3 months, tests become less frequent, maybe once every 2-3 months. At least that's how it works at my rheumy department. However, if you feel in any way ill or unwell, you should call your GP or rheumy and get a blood test done asap. I hope this helps Christine xx

I got every week initially and then monthly and this will go to three monthly at our hospital, then the GP apparantly takes them over 3 to 6 monthly checks, I suspect it depends on how well you are on the drug xx

I have been on humira for three years and enbrel previously and I get my bloods done monthly x

Hi Nantucket -I inject Humira every other week and have monthly blood tests.
