Just started humari had two shots, anyone on the same... - NRAS
Just started humari had two shots, anyone on the same and has anyone had side effects, thanks Carole
I used to be on Hurima for 18 months. It worked fantastic for the first 12/14 months, I felt almost as good as new, no pain, sleepness etc. I then caught a bad infection as it gradully worked less and less so nice guidelines said I could nolonger take it Now on Rixtumb only had 1st one though. The only problem I had with Hurima was red ichy patch on my leg after injection which lasted for 5 days, so I only injected in my stomach where I only had a small reaction.
Thanks Ozzy it's good hear other views did you pick up a lot of infections whilst on and did you have to have regular blood tests? Carole
Regular blood tests but only the one infection -Flu, I think someone else had the same problem after catching a bad bug. Otherwise it was brillant just keep away from people with flu! I had no other problems until then, I went aboard with no problems, Heathcare at home can give you a letter to use at the airport, I just put my drugs into a small cool bag and carried them though. It was a fantastic time and I would go back on it tomorrow if offered. So if it works for you just enjoy it. kind regards Karen
hi i was on Humira from last september till january (it stopped working) i had 3 great months on it no pain i felt brand new and like me again, only side affect i had was very itchy skin, am now on Enbrel have only had 2 shots so its early days. lots of regular blood tests is a must they can tell so much from them.
good luck with Humira, hugs Ali xx
I started Humira at the end of November, and it's making a small difference so far. I had to miss it for 6 weeks because I got a sinus & throat infection & GP thought it was too bad to keep taking Humira - on the huge list of side effects sinusitis is included, but who knows if I caught the bug that was doing the rounds or if Humira caused it? Other than that I don't have any problems with it.
There's a couple of facebook groups if you're on facebook, just put humira into the search bar.
I have been on Humira for 8 months and I have no signs of R.A. But I think it lowers the
immune system and you can catch any bug that is around! Also I get very ITCHY skin. But
all worth it for the massive improvement....., I couldn't lift the duvet off in the pre-Humira
days. L.
Hi Carole,
I had my fourth Humira injection yesterday. After the first two, I developed a headache almost instantly, within about 2 minutes and after the 3rd and 4th a slight headache and rash approx. 1.5" x 1" around the injection site. My Rheumatologist telephoned me to ask how I was getting on and thought I may either get used to the drug and the side effects will go away or I may be allergic to it. He's phoning again on Monday to see how I was after the 4th injection. On the plus side, I feel the drug is working.
I've been taking Humira for going on 5 years now and been fine on it. Used to get itchy reaction around injection site which is common but not so much now. Its worse in the leg so I mostly inject in the stomach. Recently I had to stop it because I had to have some serious dental work done and I've noticed I'm worse without it and cant wait to get back on it in a weeks time. I know from reading some of the blogs on this site it doesnt work for everyone but when it does it makes life much better.
I am keeping my fingers crossed it will work, can tell at the moment as I had a steroid injection a month ago, thanks for all these replies Carol
Hi my name is Dee and i was just prescribed the Humari injection but have not started yet. To be honest i'm afraid to. I have read alot of negative things about it
