Morning everyone and here is the news. I am being referred for anti-tnf. My mtx is being upped to 6 tablets a week for a month and then 8 from then on. I don't know yet what it will be and at this moment i don't really care as all i want to be is able to do things round the house without pain, and at the moment the pain is constant. Das score should be 5.1 and i am now 5.3 and i have been 6.1. So i am not going crazy thinking i am imagining it. I have to go back in a months time and hopefullky i will know more.
I hope you are all feeling brighter today. I never say better as we will never be better.

Good news for Sylvia getting the biologic. Think I will decide Enbrel when I give my decision next week. Good luck to Karen irh the Enbrel next week. Hope all goes well and hope for great results for you.

Its only the begining and i don't know how long i will have to wait for it. The nurse gave me a booklet called rsd(reflex sympathetic dystrophy as well and i have just read it and it explains about my feet and all the pain i'm getting too. My daughter is moving out today and i want to help them and all i can do is put together a bag for them of cleaning stuff and that has made me tired. I am feeling a bit deflated as it means my ra is not getting easier and i don't know how i ffeel about that. I keep hitting the wrong keys on my laptop so if my spelling is funny please forgive me as i get a bit frustrated with myself.xxxx
my typing awful it shouls say it coulndt be for a nicer person so pleased. im at the "waiting stage! it can take months is the downside, but it iis te first time since 2009 I HAVE had chance to even hear the magic name of the carrot in question. im not getting my hopes up as I may still not get. it not sure what my das score is the nurse couldnt tell me as bloods werent done. but as im taking steroids they ownt be 5!, I having them repeated end of march. with no meds at all !!! in taking time off work as leave this week to allow for this.
Aw sweetie, I am so glad to see you are finally getting some better attention. I thought that you were already on the injectable MTX. They say the injection dose is more efficient, meaning your body gets more of the dose than tablets can. You might ask about that, especially if the increaased tablets don't agree with you as much.
When it comes to anti-tnf's, I have gotten much better results from Simponi than I did from Enbrel or Humira. Don't hesitate to ask! I hit the wrong keys all the time! Sometimes, I am in a hurry to say something and forget to proofread before I hit "enter" Besides, my fingers are bent so the wrong keys are out of alighnment! Surely not my fingers Lorettaxxxx
Loretta i was on the injections twelve months ago and i had some chest infections so i couldn't take them and then i had to stay of them until after my op on my knee, then i started back on the tablets. I have never had a problem with either the jabs or the tablets. I expect i will get the jabs next time when i go. I have never considered that i was as ill as i am. I volunteer on here and i have always felt that others on here were worse off than i am, but it seems that i am more in tune with you all now. No it isn't your fingers it is that damn computer that keeps doing it loretta.xxx
Hi Sylvi, Thank goodness you are getting some help.Really hope you do feel the benefit as soon as possible. It is hard when you know the body is crying out for help but then you need to articulate what you are going through to the Doctors. Or is that just me? I am due to start Enbrel injections at the end of March as well as taking leflunomide, I have to wait to heal from a wash out of my knee.
Spring is coming & I pray you will get out in the garden very soon. Roll on the warmth of the sun!!!!
i am glad that someone has listened to me,i just don't see it as a victory,does that sound hard its not meant to. It is a releive more than anything. I hope i am able to go into my garden in the spring and be able to do it as well.love sylvia.xxxx
It's very good news sylvi - sounds like you've tried everything & as anti-tnfs are a different ball game altogether this really could be the answer for you at long last. Looking forward to the first pics of you double-digging! Though best to start with a little light weeding, perhaps.
Sylvi, I'm really pleased for you after all you've been through. I'm in the same boat and am being considered for anti-tnf too and like you I love my garden and would be devastated if I couldn't get out there. I will keep everything crossed for you.

Girls without you all to talk too i think i would have gone mad. To be honest it wasn't something i wasn't expecting,i was expecting the increase in the mtx,just not the other stuff.
So thank you girls for keeping me going when things were and are still tough.xxx

On another bright note....The daffodils are poking through the ground! They were atleast 3 inches tall yesterday, and this morning, in Northern Ohio the sun is shining on them
Lovely loretta, we have snowdrops,crocus,daffodils and christmas roses all on flower her in my garden. Mind you there is no sun only dull clouds and rain. Hope your ok today my friend.xxx

As you know I have not been looking for days, and still not fully compus mentos, with all the painkillers and not moving around. Saw mention of this on another blog and thought I had to find out the story behind it!
I am really, really pleased and if I could jump up and down and twist and shout I would. That is ingredible news and well worth switching the MacBook on. I do hope you find that the PCT have not just sat when the decision is made as to what tnf otherwise you will have a longer wait and you have waited long enough!
Raining cats and dogs here, hope the weather is better where you are, does it feel funny with both children having left home now, or has it not sunk in yet. I hope you did not overdo it yesterday with the move. Take care, would love to hear a long story. xxx
