One problem solved,a little tip.

Hi everyone,Today I solved a problem that I have had for many years.Don't know why I never thought of it before. As many of you will know,we have problems with shampoo bottles etc, unable to squeeze the contents out.Well today,my husband transfered my shampoo, conditioner etc into bottles and replaced the tops with plunger lids, the kind you get on liquid soaps.I am sure a lot of us would find this much easier than struggling to squeeze bottles. :) Just thought I would share this tip.xx

The tip I learned about shampoo was to put it onto your hair with a sponge - one of those rectangular ones about half an inch thick and about 6 x 4 inches or so. You put the shampoo onto the surface of the wet sponge, then slap it onto your wet hair and moosh it around as best you can. Means you don't have to lift your arms up too much and it works into your hair without relying on finger tips. Doesn't do quite a 100 percent job (not as good as a hairdresser anyway) but its pretty close to it and a whole lot easier.

Tried the pump variety? you can press those down with any part of your hand.

Hi you can buy powder toothpaste called eucruyl. You just dab your wet tooth brush into it. And hey presto. Brush your teeth. I use and electric brush which also helps..... the tooth paste is mildly abrasive so good for stained teeth also.

Some really good tips there, I have RA really bad in my right hand and squeezing anti-perspirants sprays under my left arm pit is a nightmare, anybody any suggestions ??

Hi there everyone, I love the shampoo in handwash bottles, and I've got a handwash bottle just about empty,so no more struggling there then.

What about a roll-on anti-perspirent rather than a spray, pip.

Opening jars, especially a brand new one, is hell isn't it. I use an ordinary cutlery knife and use the handle end to tap all the way round the rim of the lid (denting it a little) and then it twists off very easily. It works better than all those rubber gripper things!

P.S I think a TOP TIPS page is a great idea.

With opening jam jars i find if i stab a knife into the lid it comes off much easier.

I get my daughter to put 'Comfort' into a milk plastic bottle with a handle, as I can't grip the comfort bottle, also its very often too heavy. Also before now, I have got my daughter to put a measure of washing powder into a freezer bags, that way I didn't have to try to lift the box. I don't have RA in my hands but haven't the strenght to lift or grasp things. I hope these tips may help someone. Keep safe Ann x
