Can I take multi vitamins with methorexate.thanks.

yes and no is the answer. check with rhuem team.. you are probably given folic acid by them.. this is normally present in multi vitamins and therefore they may not want you to take them on methotrexate day.

I take a multi vitamin each day and my nurse said its fine. Although there is folic acid in them its a tiny dose compared to our usual folic acid tablets. I agree though that you should always check with your own rheumy team.

I'd agree with summer. Its probably OK, but you should always check with your rheumatology team (nurse or rheumatologist). You can't assume that things like vitamins or supplements are always OK with other meds.

Good questiin - the paper work that comes with the mtx tabs says not to take anything and I believe mentions multivitamins as a no. But I have never found a definate reason other than reactions/absorption etc. Im at hospital monday so I will ask.
