Hi shirl, nurse will ask how you are and how you are feeling since being on meds.she may ask to see your hands etc again.this is what happened at my first rheumy nurse appt in dec.she should have all your X-ray results too most defintly.she will look it all up on computer.she will decide if your doing fine on present meds, and may want to give it time if she feels they need to be increased.she will go through all your blood tests with you since starting meds, and will certainly be very pleased with yours :))))) hope this helps Michelle xxxxxx
hi shirl i had my 1st nurse apponitment yesterday, she explained my drugs leflunomide side effects etc asked how i was feeling gave e my blood book took blood pressure gave my some results from when i seen rheumy in november including x rays which were clear. i got a splint for my wrist and genrally she was really nice. i havnt got a appointment to see her again but i do have a fone number if i feel meds r not working or for anything in general, have got to go for blood tests for next 3 months twice a week and she said they would be in contact with me if they found something not working. overall quite happy now that bits sorted now just got to wait for my doc to do a prescription for the leflunomide and then i can start on the road to feeling better hopefully!!!! hope urs goes as well as mine did michelle x
That's good news for you, Glad things are getting sorted and thanks for your advice,
Shirley Xx
hello Shirley my nurse is lovely and gives me so much more time than the consultant.
She would do my das count, check out results or tests and record any side effects. If there was anything really worrying she will either nip into the consultant there and then or make a phone call. I actually prefer going to the nurse. I also have a phone number where i can have a word if there is a problem but it is only in operation for one hour on a monday morning - (cutbacks) and you usually can never get through.
If she doesn't mention your xray results, ask her, she may presume that someone else has told you. I do hope you get to see the same nurse all the time because then you can form a good relationship with her where she gets to know you and your particular problems.
Hi Mads thanks for your reply, I have a really good relation with the nurses at my GP,and you are right it is so important to have a relationship with them, that's why i also see the same doctor as well, So far i have had a great experience so i am hoping that this continues, Take care Xx
