Hey, thank you for liking my FB page!
Happy Halloween/ Samhain!!!
This week is just as hectic as the last one.
Tomorrow I am taking my younger horse Darcy to the BEF Excel Talent Programme Para dressage training camp. These training days are great as our little squad of riders get ridden training and help from other professionals. This time, we have sessions with a nutritionist, a strength and conditioning coach, a farrier and a sports psychologist. I am really excited as the opportunities these days give us to work on ourselves as athletes, usually when training riders have to focus entirely on their horse's development.
As the camp is only about an hour from home, I am planning on taking Darcy home tomorrow night and then take Whoop up for the second day. The camps are great but I have spent the last two days getting everything sorted out and ready for these days away. Now I am shattered! Both horses have had to have all their winter coats clipped off so that they don't overheat when working hard and travelling. And then bathed to get rid of all the chopped up hair and grease. Both Whoop and Darcy had chiropractic treatments this morning to set them up for the training coming their way. Whoop had SCENAR as well. Then all their tack had to be cleaned and sorted and the lorry packed for an early start tomorrow. Luckily, my good friend Carole is coming with me as groom and chief support! I get so tired, it is so annoying how I struggle to get fitter but with Carole there I can pace myself.
On Saturday, my birthday, I am taking Whoop to a competition in Yorkshire. It is a qualifier for the Para Equestrian Winter championships so I hope we can do some nice tests.
Then Sunday, with the girls from the yard and some of my friends, we are all going for a birthday Sunday Lunch at our local pub where they do a fantastic roast! So hopefully, a day to relax and recooperate!
