It was as dull as ditch water this morning,so hubby took me to trago mills at newton abbot. You could spend hours in there and a fortune in money. I got some stuff for xmas and lots of things i can't remember,i know it cost three figures and hubby nearly had a fit!!. There was a handbag there i liked, but i was not going to pay £30 for it. You can get just about everything you need from that place i can tell you.

We came back to the caravan and had a rest and unpacked what we had brought. I was starting to run out of steam by this time. We then went into dawlish and had a nosey round there and got a few small pressies to take back and then we had a loveoy meal in the welcome inn. We had a carvery each and it was very nice. We are now back at the van and all i am going to do is rest, shower and bed in that order. I miss my bed at home. Tomorrow we are going on a steam train at buckfast leigh.

I am very tired, so i will say goodnight to you all.......

HI Sylvi, sorry to hear that the weather isn't too good, but at least you seem to be getting out and about and filling your day..........and filling your caravan too! Don't buy too much or you'll be sleeping in the open air!! The steam train ride sounds good - I love the smell of them which takes me back to my childhood (showing my age!). Enjoy the ride

Me too ally. As children we used to live right next door to the railway lines in a railway house as dad was on the railway and yes i can remember the steam trains. xx

Glad you had fun spending to Sylvi, enjoy your shower and bed.

Hope the train ride is fun tomorrow.

Hi Sylvi, hope the weather is better for you today and also that you managed some good sleep last night.

Why is it that shops in a different place always seem better than we have at home? I used to love wandering in and out of the small 'holiday nic-nac holiday shops' (even though I knew most of them contained rubbish) when we were on holiday with our girls when they were little.

OH's Mum and Dad lived in Clacton-on-sea so it was always an un-spoken rule when we visited them for the weekend that we would 'hit' the shops on Saturday morning. (We'd go up on a Friday night and come back Sunday night).

Hope the caravan is a good one.

There used to be a Trago Mils store in Falmouth too when I was a student there many moons ago. Enjoy your holiday Sylvi. Tilda x

First off, tilda it is still there in falmouth, thats where i got my rocking chair from.

Judi, the caravan is better that the log cabin we had in july.It soon warms up as well. I know when we was down here then it was very wet weather and we were under trees, but the cabin was very damp. The sun is shining this morning and it looks like being a nice day.xxx

You must have a very long suffering husband either that or one who loves shopping! My hubby would have a fit just being in the shop for five minutes let alone long enough to purchase items when on holiday. Good to hear the weather is heating up for you and do enjoy your train journey.

Georje he needs a medal just for putting up with me. He doesn't like shopping, but when we go on holiday he knows its going to happen. We do everything together when we are on holiday so its chance that he wouldn't go,but he mainly stays outside. He couldn't when we went to trago mills though,he was good natured aboout it. Bless him,he is my hero. xx

Which caravan site are you on sylvi? We've stayed on dornafield and Ross park and several in dawlish. We have just moved from ilminster in Somerset to kettering so know that coast very well(including trago mills). Hope weather improves as it is beautiful there when its sunny. Enjoy your holiday and take care Lynn x

Lynn, we are on dawlish sands. We have had a really lovely day,but boy am i paying for it now. My ankle has swollen up my knee is swollen as well and my hands are coming out in sympathy as well. It was worth it as we had a great day. I am very tired now. Never mind we are going home tomorrow. xxx
