Yesterday I had a wonderful day and I want to share it with you, especially those newly diagnosed or awaiting diagnosis. This time last year I was in terrible pain and could hardly manage to dress myself or lift my cup. I was so depressed and really thought my life was over. However a year on and I'm happy to say that life since diagnosis and starting treatment with methotrexate is so much better. Yesterday I went pillion on my husbands motorbike for the first time ever. We went into North Wales and visited LLangollen, The Horsheshoe Pass and Betws y Coed. To be able to hold onto the bike and speed along enjoying the freedom was fantastic. I was terrified, excited, happy and so so thankful to be able to do it. I don't know how long this will continue but I'm not going to let ra hold me back and stop me living life to the full. It's never too late to try new things so if there's something you'd love to do just go for it.
I am so pleased that you are well. Hope it keeps up.
I used to ride pillion with my brother when I was a young girl. Sadly my brother has since passed away, but you story brought back some lovely memories. Thank-you
Paula, What a lovely trip you must have had, i envy you. I used to have a borfriend who had a bike and i went from ely in cambridgeshire to plymouth on the bagk of it. It was before the m5. I am so pleased that you felt well enough to go on the back of hubbys bike, i bet you felt like a young girl. Love sylvi.xxx
Wonderful thanks Paula! TTx
Thanks ladies and glad my blog evoked lovely memories for you. Finding out I had RA has been a huge wake up call for me and made me realise life is a precious gift which I want to enjoy as much as possible. I'm going to come up with a list of things I want to do and enjoy the good days.
I agree with you whole heartedly. Glad you had a FAB time.

Hey well done Paula, I used to ride pillion for many years, a great feeling.
You are right about doing something you've always wanted, don't know if you remember but I wanted to learn to swim. I had my third lesson today and I can do it, so proud of myself, it feels great, just wish I'd done it sooner.
So glad you are in a good place at the moment, I hope it continues for you too, you've worked so hard to lose so much weight, not an easy thing to do especially when in pain.

You've learned to swim!!!!! Wow!!!! I'm so pleased for you as I know it must have taken a lot of courage I find the swimming really does help ease my stiffness but unfortunately I can't go during the school holidays as the pool is teaming with children. I've got my name down for a health club but have to wait until Nov/Dec for a place and can't wait. As we don't drink alcohol anymore or eat out much due to the diet I decided we could spend the money on something healthy and relaxing.
